Why "YGK Science Club"?
"YGK Science Club" is an English immersion class for 3 to 6-year-olds that applies active and inquiry-based learning.
Children develop creativity, thinking and problem-solving skills. They are given different materials and tools to create something out of their own thinking. In the process, they encounter challenges on how materials work and it gives them opportunity to think of how to solve them.
Through our fun science explorations, young children have the chance to exercise important science skills such as observing, comparing, measuring, predicting, communicating, and reasoning.
The children get to learn English language through immersion. After several weeks of exploration with materials that they are interested in and caring teachers who converse with them meaningfully, the children start using English words naturally to express their thoughts and needs. They are acquiring the language by experience and observation.

Message from the Teachers
Hello! I am Mrs.Pui. I’m very excited to get to join Science Club Winter Program at YMCA. I’m looking forward to meeting you. It is going to be a lot of learning fun, adventures, and explorations! I can’t wait to get to know you, but first, I’ll tell you a little bit about myself and our Science Club.
I was born in Thailand, went to high school in Indiana, USA. I graduated from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan. I love pizza, ice cream, and Shushi! My favorite things to do are hiking, going to the beach, and collecting rocks with my children!
At the Science Club, you will get to explore and learn many new things by observing, exploring, and experimenting! This summer, we had so much fun with summer theme such as playing with seashells and sand, sonography, mixing colors, and even making dancing fruits in soda! We will do many fun projects during the winter program too! I can’t wait to meet you and experience them with you and your friends!
This summer, we enjoyed our summer activities with sand, shells, pebbles from the beach, water, full sunlight and shadows, etc. Now we are starting autumn nature hunt. What are we going to find? What are we going to do with autumn gifts from the nature such as acorns, pine cones, dead twigs and colorful leaves?
I love to see students always expanding their curiosity, imagination and creativity through seasonal plays. It is fun to talk together and share each of our discovery and experience.
I’m looking forward to seeing you in our Winter School!
