Time spent at YGK
will be a lifetime treasure

A Tipi Appeared in the Kitten class!

The 4th Thursday is Thanksgiving. (November 22nd)
At YGK, a tipi appeared in the Kitten class!
The Kitten children were so excited to find and crawl inside it.
We will have fun talking more about Thanksgiving this month.

November is the Peace Month.

November is the Peace Month.

Let's wish for peace of our friends all over the world.

What is "Peace"?

We may not have chance to think about "Peace" often in our daily lives.  The Peace Month can be a good opportunity for us to think more deeply about "Peace".

What can we can do?

  • Draw/Write a peace message on a peace dove and send it to the YMCAs overseas.
  • Make a donation.
  • Learn about our world.
  • Join the Welcome Fiesta.  It is a fund-raising event organized by Yokohama YMCA and held on Friday, November 23.  There will be a haunted house, flea markets, ethnic food stands and more!

Cub's Library Visit

The Cub class went on a library visit today as part of their lesson.
The library was very big and there were so many books!
There were even picture books written in many different languages.
We borrowed several books so we could enjoy reading them in the classroom.

Beautiful Treasures

YGK friends participated in a treasure hunt during park time.
After coming back to YGK, they began studying what they found using a magnifying glass.
They enjoyed looking at small shiny precious and colorful stones.

Fun park time

Everyday at park time, YGK friends discover numerous new things.

They are interested in insects. They look for them and do find many. Through observation, they learn a lot about these wonders of nature.

With them, we look forward to these discoveries. What will we find, next ?
We can hardly wait !

Puppy friends's fun lesson

Puppy friends enjoyed their lesson about time through activities.
They asked "What time?" then a leader would answer the time.
They would step forward while counting the time.
Everyone took turns becoming a leader and we were very excited to learn about time.
We wonder what fun is waiting for us next time.

YGK friends' favorite books

YGK friends like reading books.  Books bring us great benefits.
They take us on wonderful journeys up and down the lanes, routes and rivers of the imagination.  They put us in somebody else's shoes and teach us valuable lessons.  They make us happy and excited.  They soothe us when we are sad.  They are there just like a good old friend.

Of course, YGK friends have favorites.
We would like to introduce you one of their favorite books today.

It is titled 'Still Stuck' by Shinsuke YOSHITAKE.
The story is about a boy who got stuck in his clothes.
Many things happen in his imagination...
You will become addicted to this funny story!!

The 21st International Charity Run

On Saturday, October 20, the 21st International Charity Run was held at Rinko Park, Minato Mirai.

The fee applied for entering this charity event is donated to children in need.
Thanks to all the kind support from the parents and other people, the Cub students were able to take part in the event, this year too.
Although what each of us can do is quite limited, put together, our contributions can help bring forth a better world.

Cub Class' Outing

The Cub class had an outing to Negishi Park today. It was drizzling in the morning, but we were lucky that it stopped before we left the YMCA! At the park, we could pick up fallen leaves and acorns. We fully enjoyed an outdoor lunch and playtime! Thank you for this wonderful experience. We will add this to our growing list of wonderful experiences at YGK.

Facility Introduction

YGK is located in the Chuo YMCA building. A building, which houses different departments running a sports club, a Japanese language school, a vocational school of occupational therapy, and more. YGK students grow up around many people, from different walks of life, all passionate about learning

We have a swimming pool, here. and gymnasia!
We enjoy all of these facilities in YGK; swimming and P.E. classes are big hits with the students and many take sports classes after school. It is refreshing and fun!

After those classes They can come and join after‐school child care, if they want!
