"YGK Science Club" is an English immersion class for 4-6-year-olds that applies active and inquiry-based learning.
Children develop creativity, thinking and problem-solving skills. They are given different materials and tools to create something out of their own thinking. In the process, they encounter challenges on how materials work and it gives them opportunity to think of how to solve them.
Through our fun science explorations, young children have the chance to exercise important science skills such as observing, comparing, measuring, predicting, communicating and reasoning.
The children get to learn English language through immersion. After several weeks of exploration with materials that they are interested in and caring teachers who converse with them meaningfully, the children start using English words naturally to express their thoughts and needs. They are acquiring the language by experience and observation.

Our Teachers
Hi! My name is Priscila. I’m from the Philippines. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education major in Science and minor in English from the University of the City of Manilla. I’ve taught both English and Science in the Philippines and in Japan for more than 30 years. I am passionate about Science research and nature exploration and am inclined towards creative activities like arts and crafts, cooking and gardening.
Presently, I am a happy YGK Science Club teacher. Seeing my students taking part in observations and raising questions in awed wonder makes my day.
Preschoolers are naturally curious, thus the perfect time to expose them to active exploration.
YGK Science Club is providing an opportunity for children to engage and express their sense of wonder through observation , experimentation and play. I’m looking forward to seeing your Little scientists joining us on Saturdays !
Hello! I’m Yuko.
I studied cross cultural communication at Sophia University in Tokyo and at Missouri State University in the US. I like baking pies and cookies. While enjoying baking, I always learn some food science principles to make my pies and cookies taste better. Science is everywhere in our daily lives!
I’m excited to explore the world around us with our students. I would love to help them discover anything wondrous to them through our fun science experiments!

・Who can apply From Nensho, 3-4 year olds to Nencho, 5-6 year olds (born from April 2, 2018 to April 1, 2021)
・Maximum Number of Students Saturday Courses: 12 per class
・YMCA Membership Fee 1,000 yen (non-taxable)
・Tuition (Monthly) 42 lessons per year
・Unit price 3 yen (Saturday Courses) × Default number of lessons of the month*
